Mk Ultra was an operation conducted by the CIA from 1953 - 1973, although many believe it started as early as 1948 and still continues today. MK Ultra started because the USA believed that China, North Korea & The Soviet Union had used mind control techniques on American prisoners. In an effort to combat this they started the MK Ultra experiments.
The MK Ultra experiments were completed under the guise of research and were conducted in 89 different institutions, several of which were universities but also consisted of pharmaceutical companies, prisons and hospitals. What many people don’t realize is that these experiments were not just completed in the USA, these experiments were completed all over the world, including Canada. The experiments in Canada were conducted in Montreal on unsuspecting patients that were admitted into the Allan Memorial Institute at McGill University. Not only were these experiments funded by the CIA, John Diefenbaker, the Canadian Prime Minister at that time had full knowledge of the experiments and provided financing for them.
The doctor that led and conducted the experiments carried out at the Allen Memorial Institute was Dr. Donald Ewen Cameron. Not only was Dr. Cameron the hospitals first director, and the first chairman of McGill University’s psychiatry department, he was also the chairman for the World Psychiatric Association, president of both the American and Canadian Psychiatric Associations and a member of the Nuremburg Medical Tribunal.
The experiments that Dr. Cameron conducted were completed under the guise of curing schizophrenia but what was actually taking place was far more sinister. Unsuspecting patients that were admitted for things such as anxiety and other common conditions were given high amounts of LSD, paralytic drugs and other psychoactive drugs. Many patients were subjected to listening to tapes on loop containing noise or repetitive statements for up to 16 hours at a time, chemically induced sleep for several weeks, sensory deprivation, and rounds of electroshock that was up to 75 times the normal intensity.
Dr. Cameron was paid by a CIA organization, the Society for the Investigation of Human Ecology. He was paid $69 000 by the CIA between 1957-1964 to conduct the Montreal experiments. As of early 2022 there were approximately 55 families of victims of these experiments that were seeking legal action against the Canadian Government, McGill University Health Center and the Royal Victoria Hospital.
The Montreal Experiments are just the tip of the ice burg when it comes to MK Ultra. More importantly, MK Ultra is not the only time that the CIA completed illegal experiments on unsuspecting citizens. They were also responsible for Project Bluebird and Project Artichoke but we will save those for another day.
Hard to imagine... but don’t even have to. Facts are available and as you noted, this was in full willingness of the governments around the world.
